Blossoming Family Tree

Hey y'all -

Two years ago, my uncle Chris married Danae, which made us all happy because it seemed to make him so happy. Always nice seeing people you love happy.

As a side benefit to this marriage, I gained two new cousins: Danae's kids McKenna and Jacob.

On our last day in Montgomery, Danae asked me if I'd want to ride with her out to a semi-secret spot in Millbrook, Alabama and take some pictures where they filmed some of the scenes for the movie "Big Fish." Well, of course. We rode all the way out there to discover that recent rains had flooded the roads and we wouldn't be able to see the little abandoned town that was featured in the movie. Instead, we thought it would be fun to take some photos of McKenna.

McKenna was a great sport about having a photo shoot suddenly thrust upon her.

McKenna and her mama are beautiful girls, inside and out.

For dinner, we went back to Danae and Chris's house where we met up with Jacob who is a year (or two?) older than Laney.  Jacob picked one of every kind of flower in the yard for Laney, showed her his room, his turtle and his creek, and let her watch "Strawberry Shortcake" on the TV without complaining.

So excited and blessed to have such amazing new additions to our family.

Love,
Mom
