Just What You Were Waiting For

Dear Laney,

Once you proved to us that you could walk if you HAD to, you pretty much gave up on it. You checked it off your mental list, and were ready to move on. I thought we were going to have to buy you one of those L'il Rascal scooters that the old folks use at Walmart.

I don't know what made you change your mind tonight - maybe you were just waiting on Nate and Brynn. Or maybe you just wanted to get all of those grandparents out of your hair. Whatever it is, exactly one week after Peg Peg left us, you're walking.

Ha ha.

We stopped by Nate and Brynn's this afternoon after doing our grocery shopping and having lunch at Outback (where you ate an entire serving of mac n' cheese). While we were hanging out in their living room, they started encouraging you, and the next thing we knew, you were walking laps, back and forth between them.

Both you and Brynn were wearing pretty kickin' pants for the occasion. It's hard to say who was wearing a more festive outfit, but I think your aunt's mismatched socks gave her the edge:

...And here's a brief clip of the action, in case any of readers might want to cheer along at home:

Love (and thanks to your aunt and uncle!),
Mom
